Dynamite Flair (right click + "save file as”)

I started writing this song when I was in a band called Shade Tree. I found this riff recorded on an old cell phone and decided to finish it off for a free download. It’s about a relationship that never quite fulfilled what I expected it to be. Circa 2009.

This was recorded the last week of August just in time for it September release. I added keyboard and a weird guitar “solo”. It also features some keyboard textures from my friend Dylan Price.

This was written for my wife after nearly two years of being together she wanted a song about her. I told I didn’t want to write another stupid love song again but it worked out just fine.

My first real attempt at writing a blues tune; this turned out to be pretty cool. I put an old time radio eq filter on my vocal track to make it sound older than it is. Hope you enjoy!

This is an older tune, originally from my “Stereo Dreams” days back in high school. This release features the Kyle Yap Band- Jack Kahle on drums and Stephen Tassio on Bass and very special guest Tyler Sweitzer from our friends The Unemployed Architects on guest vocals on the chorus. Tyler always wanted me to record this song so I thought it only fitting he be on the recording!

First song as a complete band! This was written and recorded in april to be released as a little promo for our first show ever in Springfield, IL at SOHO Fest. One of my first ever songs not about a real life experience so I hope you enjoy this little story about a girl named Louise!

“Everything’s OK”  - April 2015

This is another older tune (started in 2011) that was just completed in late March. This is about a girl that moved away right as we started getting close. Of course I tried to follow her down to Texas but things weren’t meant to be and I came home in a funk. This is me talking to myself so to speak to get me back to normal as the overlaying vocals are having a conversation before the chorus hits.

This is my version of a "red dirt country" song. This was written earlier in the year and completed just in time to be released this month. This song features the incomparable Stephen Tassio* on bass guitar. All in all this took about 6 hours of studio time. Enjoy.

This is actually a song that I had done demos on a few years back but never got around to completing it when I got busy playing with Dan Hubbard & the Humadors. I have finally started the process of finishing a lot of old songs and have been working on a bunch of new ones as well. The next few months will feature a collection of both newer tunes and some old ones that had never been released. This one took about 4 hours recording.

My wife Kori and I wrote lyrics for a very basic song structure and chorus I had come up with in mid 2014. Here’s how it turned out after about 5 hours in the studio. I’ve been focusing on locking in all the parts of a song and keying in on making the drums more driving and less complicated to better suit the piece.
